The Small Circle

Once upon a time, there was a lovely circle, if a bit small.

She could not get rollin’.

She was stuck!

When a big storm came, she thought to herself, “My chance, at last.”

But, she became stuck worse than ever.

She waited.

And waited.

Then, out of nowhere, or so she imagined,

a little breeze came along,

a lovely, breeze.

The small circle was on her way,

Rollin’ round and round,

Up and down,

As was her nature.

At last.

It is the small things in life that keep you going.

This piece was written during the 1990s and sketched out in an artist’s book format as a rough. (Posted 2015; revised 2018)

In 2003 I worked it into an art piece using pencil, calligraphy, collage, sewing, and handmade paper by Rick Hungerford.

This feels “just right” (to quote Goldilock’s) for the first post of the new blog.  cp.
